DISRUPTIVE IDEAS FOR START-UPS

Ever closely seen a cold drink bottle? The fizz, initially captured inside a curved room, fantasizing the  world outside, and having an ardent desire to break the monotony and come out, leaving the curved room ablated. And then suddenly its eyes widen up and it becomes full of joys of springs, having seen his landlord open that cap. We all are like that fizz, eagerly waiting to be shaken vigorously and rise to top like that fizz. Similar is the concept of disruptive innovation in start-ups.

Disruptive innovation or the most admired disorder is what the start-ups aim for these days. But the question arises: Is it attainable? Of course, you’ll burden me down with a sack of idioms and tell me that you are hell bent to be disruptive. You’ll pledge to go into overdrive and finally land on the crest of the wave! But you can definitely make use of these ingredients and enter the wild world of disruption.

  1. MARCH TO THE BEAT OF A DIFFERENT DRUM:

Ever thought why Uber erupted like a volcanic eruption and thumbed its nose at the entrenched taxi industry? Well, it could paint a picture of its disruptive rise to stardom through the idea of creating an “app”, which was an outlander at that time. Hence think of an idea which is a complete deviance. Something which is one of its kind, may be a mold shattering concept!

2. BRING THE HOUSE DOWN:

The reasons why start-ups have to come back to square one is the failure to meet the demands of people. Your product should be such that it fulfills an unmet demand or desire of the people. Ask yourself a simple face-palming question: Will people want to buy this? And if a rocking “yes” comes as an answer then what are you waiting for?! Just grab this opportunity! Surely you’ll make a go of it.

3. IF YOU HAVE A GUN, YOU CAN ROB A BANK

BUT IF YOU HAVE A BANK, YOU CAN ROB EVERYONE!

Now whenever it comes to money, we all will put our hands on our pockets. Well, that’s a reflex action. Always remember your target audience will have to dip into their savings and get that morose and wretched note out and see it bidding goodbye to his master after years of faithful service. They wonder: MY money and that cruel shopkeeper, strange bedfellows don’t you think? So in order to make this departure happy and worhthwhile, make your product affordable. You can easily conquer the market with something which does not make your customers feel the pinch. An affordable product is a star of many eyes!

4. DELUSIONAL AND DISAGREEABLE PEOPLE ON THE JOURNEY TO DISRUPTION

Think of this: You want to start a business. Spend money like water on it. Your business doesn’t turn out to be a money spinner. You hard up. You’re not even paid peanuts and then finally the penny drops! How many of you would like to take this “less travelled ravaged path”? I could see a few distant hands. Well, these are the people who are delusional and can get down in the sandboxes that only disruptors can play in and that too with eye-popping clarity! Call them crazy, misfits, the round pegs in the square holes but accept this hard fact that only they have the indomitable courage to turn their world upside down. So change your attitude. Be delusional. Be confident.

Never too young to build an empire, never too old to chase a new dream.

 Just follow your will coupled with ample of hard work. You’ve already jumped on the bandwagon! Just give your best shot to it!
